Brownster AI ("we," "us," or "our") is operated by Boone Systems LLC. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use the Brownster AI mobile application or visit brownsterai.com, including the Brownster Driver Shop.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information you provide
- Work-related entries you create in the App (hours, drafts, contract questions, and notes) are stored on your device unless you choose to send content to an AI feature
- Messages and relevant context you submit to an AI feature are sent through Brownster's server to Google Gemini to generate a response
- Subscription and payment status (payments are handled by Apple or Google; we do not receive your payment card details)
- Communications you send to us (support requests, feedback)
- Your email address and gear interests when you join the Brownster Driver Shop update list
1.2 Information collected automatically
- Device information (device model, operating system version, app version)
- Usage data (which features you use, crash reports, performance metrics)
- Operational account data (a pseudonymous app identifier, subscription tier, promotional access, account status, last-seen time, and AI request count; we do not store AI message text in the administration console)
- Approximate location (only if you grant permission, and only used for app functionality such as time-zone alignment)
- Limited device and ad-interaction information used by our advertising provider for ad delivery, frequency capping, fraud prevention, and aggregated reporting
2. How We Use Information
- To provide, operate, and improve the App's features
- To save your entries locally on your device
- To generate requested AI responses through Google Gemini
- To process subscription purchases and manage your account
- To respond to your support requests
- To send the shop updates you request, such as new driver gear picks and seasonal route kits
- To detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, or security issues
- To display contextual, non-personalized advertising and measure aggregate ad performance
3. Advertising
The App may display contextual, non-personalized advertisements served by Google AdMob. Brownster does not request Apple's App Tracking Transparency permission and does not use the iOS Advertising Identifier (IDFA) for cross-app tracking. AdMob may process limited device and ad-interaction information for ad delivery, frequency capping, fraud prevention, and aggregated reporting as described in Google's Privacy Policy.
4. Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:
- Service providers who help us operate the App (cloud hosting, analytics, crash reporting, advertising)
- Apple or Google, in connection with store purchases and subscription management
- RevenueCat, which helps us verify subscription status and promotional access
- Google Gemini, which processes content submitted to Brownster's AI features to generate responses
- Authorities, when required by law, legal process, or to protect rights and safety
5. Data Retention
We retain account and operational data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide, secure, and administer the App. Shop update-list information is retained until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. You may request deletion of your account or associated data at any time by contacting us at the email below.
6. Your Choices
- You can disable location and notification permissions in your device settings at any time
- You can manage or cancel your subscription through your App Store or Google Play account settings
- You can request deletion of your account by emailing daniel@boonesystems.com
- You can unsubscribe from shop updates or request deletion of your waitlist information by emailing daniel@boonesystems.com
7. Children
The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us so we can delete it.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be highlighted in the App or by other reasonable means.
